Seacology Funding Improves MPA Infrastructure U.S.-based Seacology, a non-profit “with the sole and unique purpose of preserving the environments and cultures of islands throughout the globe,” provided funding to assist the MPA in improving their service to villagers and visitors alike. With tourism the MPA's main income-generating opportunity, staff and volunteers need modern tools such as a computer and internet access to effectively market the organization and keep in touch with tour operators and potential guests. The grant from Seacology allowed for the purchase of a laptop, projector, solar power system, and internet service for a one-year period. The MPA is very grateful for this invaluable assistance and was happy to host the organization's representatives for a special visit in October 2005.
